Learn-to-row and sculling development programs operate at the North Tahoe Aquatic Center. It is available for interested people from ages 14 to 99 (and beyond!). The program offers a safe and enjoyable way to try rowing for yourself.
The coaching staff are all USRowing certified, with over 200 years of combined rowing experience. All equipment is included - for beginners to experienced racers. This program will teach you the basics to glide effortlessly and safely across the water with an emphasis on fun and safety. For more experienced rowers, there are development opportunities to improve your technique and power through our Sculling Center. And for all, there will be opportunities to train for, and enter, rowing races on Lake Tahoe this summer; a great opportunity for youth rowers in particular as they prepare for college.
We will be hosting High-Altitude rowing camps and clinics with world-class coaches. Prices will include coaching, seminars, lectures, cross-training at high altitude and room and board at substantially discounted rates to the notoriously high Tahoe Summer tourist season!

Where is Emerald Bay?
Emerald Bay is a short drive from South Lake Tahoe and can be accessed via Highway 89. It is the only inlet on the lake and is home to Lake Tahoe’s only island, Fannette Island. Emerald Bay is located within Emerald Bay State Park, just south of D.L. Bliss State Park, and spans 1,533 acres. Emerald Bay State Park is home to many landmarks, but most famously, the park is home to Vikingsholm Castle, a popular tourist destination rich in history and architecture.
Row Tour Lake Tahoe With Us

A Rowing Retreat on Emerald Bay - The Jewel of Tahoe
Lake Tahoe’s crown jewel – an oasis of shimmering greens, turquoise and blues against a strikingly beautiful mountain backdrop on the Lake’s west shore – this is Emerald Bay. Due to Lake Tahoe’s incredible clarity and depth, the colors of the lake are surreal, and Emerald Bay is the perfect place to take in the entirety of the scene.
Located along Lake Tahoe’s west shore, Emerald Bay State Park offers spectacular views of the blue-green water and features many activities such as camping, hiking, boating and swimming. The park was designated a National Natural Landmark for its brilliant panorama of mountain-building processes and glacier carved granite. The natural beauty, geology and history of this unique island make it one of the highlights of any visit to the Lake Tahoe area.
